Kinja'd!!!

I drove to northern NY and back. I have property that I still visit, and figured driving was the safest route, so the family loaded up the 4Runner and headed out to be on the water for July 4th and the following week.

It was great to go back and have a relaxing week on the water. The fishing off the dock was spectacular, largemouth, smallmouth, bluegill, and perch. There was also northern pike and walleye caught in other locations.

Mostly, it was a week of R&R. My son kayaked, paddleboarded, canoed, swam, fished, etc, and had a great time being in the water all week. The dog had a great time being in the river too. The weather was simply amazing, low-mid 90s, and a surface water temp in the low 80s.

The 4Runner did great, no issues, but we all welcomed getting out when we returned home yesterday. Now it’s time for a good deep cleaning, oil change, tire rotation. Then the Mustang can get some attention. I have a batch of parts arriving Wednesday, so hopefully it cools off (hahaha, cooling off in CO in July) so I can get some work done!

Hit 20k on the 4Runner on the return leg. Also, bombed down a few sandy roads like the one in the first picture, the suspension soaks everything up perfectly.

(Yes, we social distanced, wore masks, etc and kept contact to a minimum. We were very responsible travelers. )

I could really go for some of that right about now. Looks like absolute serenity.

It was. It’s not a large river, and there’s no public boat ramp, so any boats on there now are people that live there, thus it does not get crowded at all.  It’s also aged quite a bit since I’ve lived there, so it’s mostly older residents on pontoon boats, if any are out.

Love love love the sunset photos my friend. I’m a sucker for that kind of stuff. Great vehicle to make the trip in too.
